If You have a "no key detected" message appear in Your 2016 Ford Escape the first thing You should do is change the battery in Your key fob. The required battery for the key is a CR2032 which is a watch battery and can be purchased at most retail stores or anywhere with a battery/electronics section. Once You have replaced the battery attempt to lock and unlock the door to reset the anti-theft system and try to enter the vehicle with the key. If this does not fix the issue there could be a problem with the ignition sensor or the key transponder which will require an OBD Diagnostic tool to hook up to the car to see if any error codes are listed to help pinpoint the issue. You can either take it to a dealership for help or You can get a diagnostic tool from Your local auto-parts store as they will let You use it or allow You to borrow it for a small price.
