As the manufacturer says, the 2019 Volkswagen Jetta 1.4L i-4 engine will have a filter oil capacity of 4.2 quarts. SAE 0w20 complete synthetic is the preferred oil for the car and You can replace the engine oil and filter every 5000 - 7000 to ensure that Your engine is at its best output. If the oil is not changed, the oil will lose its viscosity and will not adequately lubricate the engine's internal parts, such as the pistons and cylinders. Depending on whether it is traditional or synthetic and the brand/quality of the oil, the price of oil will range from $5 - $10 per quart. If You substitute oil, make sure that You also replace the oil filter.

The manual for my 2019 Jetta S (1.4L engine) states OW20 and 4 liters, or about 4.2 quarts. I just did my oil change and added exactly 4 liters. I ran the motor and then afterwards checked the dipstick and saw I was still half a quart too low. I added a half quart and was filled to the top of the dipstick indicator line. In total I used 4.473 liters or 4.72 quarts. If anyone is wondering, the drain plug size is M14x1.5.
