The 2007 Dodge Ram 1500 neutral safety switch for an automatic transmission is located inside the transmission case or in the linkage that allows the vehicle to shift gears. This switch prevents You from starting the engine when the transmission is in any gear other than Park or Neutral. It will be located internally and You will have to remove the transmission pan to gain access. Then You can locate the valve body assembly on the vehicle which is were the switch will be. The repair is not too strenuous but does require some ability and experience with transmission components it should take about an hour. The cost for the replacement part will range from $30 - $60 depending on the brand and the quality of the part.
