The "check gauges" light in the 2007 Dodge Ram 1500 often indicates there is an oil or coolant leak causing a loss of pressure in the vehicle. To diagnose, check fluid levels and top up as needed. If the warning persists, consider that You might need gasket and seal replacement to stop internal leaks. Some owners have experienced the "check gauges" warning followed by a no-start. This is often due to a faulty oil pressure sending unit or oil pump. The vehicle will not start due to low pressures detected by the PCM. Other causes could be related to clogged oil pick up lines and pan filters. They can become compromised by carbon and debris. Cleaning these parts will often restore pressure and the warning light malfunction.

2007 1500 Ram . Check gauge light started coming on a while back... Off and on, not consistent. No issues at all with oil pressure or fluids. However the ABS/Brake light also came on and has been going on/ off. Any ideas?

I’ve experienced this problem with a faulty connection to my battery. So check your voltage gauge. You just may be able to fix it for a lot less.
