The Jeep Patriot uses A5 X4.5" bolt pattern on the wheels. That means that there are 5 lug nuts and they are 4.5 inches apart. The stock wheels that come on the patriot are 16 inches to 17 inches in diameter depending on the trim. In general You should not go more than 2 inches larger or smaller than the stock wheels and You should get tires to match. You want to try to keep the overall outer diameter of the wheel as close to stock as possible to prevent rubbing or damage to Your gears. A reputable wheel shop should be able to show You a selection of options that will fit on Your Patriot.
