On the Mazda3 (and all other Mazda vehicles, for that matter), the AT light stands for "automatic transaxle". Seeing it illuminate can be for trivial reasons, but it can also indicate something much more serious. If it lights up, You should stop driving Your vehicle as soon as safely possible, and begin to diagnose the issue. The most common reason that the light will illuminate is because Your Mazda3 is running low on automatic transmission fluid. Therefore, this should be the first thing You should check. If this isn't Your issue, I'd recommend running an OBD-II scan tool on the vehicle, since the light is usually accompanied by at least one fault code. Hopefully, it's something simple and not too serious!

The at light in a mazda3 is associated with the automatic transaxle. It may come on if your automatic transmission fluid is low, but it can also be warning of a serious issue that needs immediate attention.

If your AT light is on it's most likely the TCM A.K.A transmission control module on a mazda 3
