If You get the engine fault message in Your 2014 Ford Escape then it means that there is a problem somewhere and an error code has been create. This is a general error that doesn't give You much information but there are many possible types of problems that this could be referring to. If You've got Your own OBD2 scanner You can find out for Yourself what the specific code is and go from there if You want to try to repair it Yourself. If You don't have this tool You should bring it in to a dealer so they can run the scan and diagnose the issue for You. -

The engine fault message on a 2014 ford escape means that a diagnostic code has been stored.
My faulty engine light has been on everyday for 2wks. I took it and got a diagnostic read and no codes came up. It was almost due for an oil change so was told that might be what it is. Got my oil changed and light came back on with the error, faulty engine service now…NOW WHAT?
Hold the fob right up against the steering column…often there's enough juice left in battery of fob to allow for signal to allow start up.
