What does check emission system mean on acura rdx?

I don’t have an answer other than I have the same problem. My Check Emission Light came on and took my 2008 Acura RDX to my trusted mechanic. My turbo was replaced last year and was still under warranty. Turned out there was some issue with this and it was fixed and my car was running better than ever. Great pick and drives smoothly. Then the Check Emission Light and Check SH-AWD System light came on. Mechanic checked everything out thoroughly. I had some other minor repair done unrelated to this and the lights went away and I picked up my car. The mechanic said he drove y car for 30 miles to see if those warning lights came on and since it didn’t, I could come pick up my car. I drove it a few miles very happy that the car had lots of power and no lights. But this only lasted for about 5 miles, then both lights came back on. So I’m not sure if this is safe to drive since everything seemed to pass while in the shop. Can this be “just a faulty light?”

On mine a mechanic said that my turbo was going out. It still drives but you can't start off fast but other than that it runs fine.

Same as Jacqueline I purchased my 2016 RDX (July 2022) and 32 days later I was back at the dealership with the light on. They said they don't see anything wrong. I also noticed there are times when trying to accelerate it feels like its not going anywhere. Trying to merge onto a highway I thought I was going to die because it wouldn't move. I was so excited to switch over to Acura's, but now I'm just hoping this wasn't a huge mistake.

You are past due for an oil change. You have a rich air/fuel mixture. You have worn spark plugs. You have a loose or leaking gas cap. Your air filter is d***y. Your “check engine light” is on.

I am looking for the code to reset my emission in Acura RDX TOURING 2009.

This seems to be a recurring issue in my 2007 RDX over the last 2-3 years. I take it to the dealer and they say it's a sensor. I've had the car for over 10 years/96,000 miles. This is a new issue though.

I had the same problem. I disconnected the battery and re connected it and the warning light went and hasn’t come back since!

I brought my 2016 RDX to my local Acura dealer and told it was "fixed" after I noticed the emissions light on. I was further told it was a rodent that had chewed through something. $750.00 later, I picked up my car and it was on again THE NEXT DAY. I brought it right back and was told it would cost another $750.00 because it had happened again. Overnight? Really? I'm picking it up today and getting another opinion. Something's not right, and it's not my car.

I have a 2018 Acura RDX. Out of no where my Check Emissions Signal came on. I barely drive the truck. She has 39k miles. It is time for my B1 service (oil change) I pray they can rectify it then. When I look around I don't see the older model RDX's this could be an engineering problem. I only see the new models.

I have a 09 Acura RL and the emission system light is on , I have changed spark plugs and coils put a new air intake and still there

I went to the gas station and I forgot the gas can cover ever since the emissions lights came on I buy a new cover and the problem is still there

I had it checked out I was told that code shows that problem is in flow mechanic clear flow pass and for one week it was fine. One week later light is back on. I guess I have to bring it for more testing.

In regards to Lisa Watson's comment I agree. Mine still drives fine but I notice my RDX doesn't start off fast... I can tell a difference. I had mine checked out recently and mechanic said everything was good I even asked about my muffler, but they said it was fine. I don't know. Looks like I'll be getting it checked out when I go in for my next service.
