The Mazda CX5 Audio system problems can be caused by bad wires or damaged speakers. Much more commonly though they will be caused by a bad fuse. To get to the fuse box look to the left of the steering wheel look for a small seam or crack along the dash. Using a screwdriver or prybar you will want to pop this open. On the inside, you will find a bunch of fuses. On the back of the panel that you pulled open, you will see a diagRam that will show you what each of the fuses is for. If this is not on the back of the panel then you can also find it in the owner's annual for the vehicle. Once you have figured out which fuse you need simply pull it out.The two sections that stick up should be connected by a thin strip of metal. If this has been broken then the fuse is no good and will need to be replaced. If this strip is there then the fuse is fine and can be popped back in. New fuses will cost you about 10 dollars, so they are pretty cheap.

I have a 2018 CX5 and bought it used. It’s so frustrating!! I’ll be listening to audio and it just randomly starts doing stuff on its own, changing audio sources, the screen completely going black oradjusting levels on its own. It’s annoying! Had a co worker with the same car & same thing was happening to her.

Just bought my new 2021 mazda cx30 select. Two hours after owning it the speakers/ sound completely stopped working. Brought itback to mazda, they pulled the fuses, put them back and the computer reset itself. Left with a working stereo, turned the car off, turned it back on and the sound wasn’t working again. Now back at the dealership again.

I experienced the same thing with my new Mazda cx5 2021 grand touring. I brought it back to the dealership, they reset the software and it was working. The next day it didn't turn on when I turned the car on. It randomly turns on about 15 minutes into driving. I'm heading back to the dealership.

I am having the same issues, randomly when I turn my car on the sound is not working and I’m not able to connect to the radio. Brought it into the Dealership and they re-download the software and it started to work and then the next thing dealership and then they re-download the software and it started to work and then the next thing you know I turn on my car again and it stops working. Very frustrating! Has anyone found a solution to this?

Our audio system was on in our 2021 mazda cx5, yet there was no sound. This happened sporadically and was very frustrating. It wasnt the mute button, or a system update, and disconnecting the battery did not fix the issue. After 2 visits to the dealership, they replaced (under warranty) the amplifier unit and that seems to have resolved the issue! Yay!!!

I have a 2018 Mazda CX-5 & this audio receiver is worthless!! It changes everything on its own! Forget using the gps…it will change on you in a snap nearly causing you to get into an accident! I’ve contacted the dealership & they’ve said I’m the only one with this problem……….UMMMMMM, I see on here alone, that I am not! Mazda you should be ashamed of yourself. You know this is going on, yet there are no recalls on it.Is it going to take a horrific accident (due to the ghostly screen changing ) law suit for you to fix this problem!?!????

My 2017 audio system drops calls and reboots often. I am unable to play music on Bluetooth. I tried to reinstall my iPhone 13 but couldn’t. A “system error” was sited. Totally frustrating. Could it be a fuse?

No answers but having a simular issue with 2021 CX5 Sig. Recently the audio volume will ramdomely lower and come back. Dealer did an update but that didn't fix the problem. Contacted the dealer for another appointment. Frustrating especially on car with only 8K miles.
