The 2017 Ford F-150 uses SAE 5w-20 oil. The 3.5l engine has a capacity of 6.3 quarts while the 5.0l can hold 7.7 quarts Oil is important because it is a lubricant for the engine parts, it helps protect the emission system, and it can enhance fuel economy. The cost of an oil change for Your F-150 is between $50 and $60 for labor and between $90 and $100 for parts. You should get an oil change every 7,500 to 10,000 miles. You will know that it is time for an oil change if You notice increased engine noise, shaking while idling, excess exhaust, an oil smell inside the vehicle, and of course if You see the Check Engine or Oil Change lights come on.

Oil changes are a standard maintenance requirement in all vehicles. Manufacturers recommend an oil change at least once a year. The F-150 is no exception. Since there are five different engines that come in this vehicle, it is very important to know which engine you have. The 3.5L V6 needs 6.3 quarts of 5W-20. The EcoBoost engines all need 6 quarts of 5W-30 and, the 5.0L V8 gets 7.7 quarts of 5W-20. Once you determine your engine, changing the oil is a simple task.

If you have the 5.0 it's 7.7qts. To simplify your life when DIY purchase 8qts, and remove half of a cup (4ozs)from one if them =7.7qts.
