A well-maintained VW Beetle can last 200,000 or more but the downside is maintenance. These cars are designed to last a long time. There are some things You can do while You own to car to make it last longer. Don't ignore gauges, Lights, or Alerts. Ignoring these warning lights could leave You stranded on the side of the road or cause extensive and expensive damage to Your vehicle if You continue to drive. Keep an eye on Your fluids and check them regularly. Change Your air filters. Inspect and Rotate Tires.
I had the timing belt replaced awhile back. Because guy that has maintained it for me said if it breaks while driving it. It will cost a lot to fix. So we replaced the timing belt and im at 205107 miles and its still runs great. Its been a great car.

Volkswagen does not exactly make the most reliable or cost efficient car to keep on the road. They drive fine and I liked the Jetta I had years ago but the moment that it hit 120k the electronics and suspension parts were falling apart. I sould mine to a dealer with 125k miles on it and the clutch was starting to slip. Probably not toobadbut the

Mine has 220,000 miles on it and no signs of slowing down
My 08 beetle just hit 200,000 miles this morning. We’ve had some ac issues but it’s been a great little car. The memories that have been made with it I’ll always cherish. My son came home from the hospital in the backseat, now at 13, he sits up front and is so tall he almost doesn’t fit anymore.

Many owners report beingh able to drive their vw beetle for as much as 200,000 miles, but be prepared for high cost repairs.
I'm curious. Have you changed a timing belt in that vehicle?
