If You need to reset the PCM in a 2014 Ford Escape it will be pretty simple but You will need a socket wrench. The firSTStep is to pop the hood and find the lock nut that's on the negative battery cable connector. Remove the nut and then disconnect the negative battery terminal. Once that is done all You need to do is wait a while, probably 20 minutes at least. During this time the PCM will slowly discharge any of the backup power that has been stored up. When the power is completely drained You can reconnect the terminal and tighten the nut again and You should be good to go. -

Open the hood of the ford. Loosen the lock nut located on the negative battery cable connector with a socket and ratchet. Pull the connector off the negative battery terminal.

I tried the step you said but it did not reset the cimputer
It really needs to sit unplugged for 3 hrs. 20 min isn't long enough for certain larger load capacitors and relays with memory chips.
