The 2012 Ford Fusion's power steering assist fault may surface if Your vehicle was built between August 14, 2012, through June 28, 2015 at the Hermosillo Assembly Plant. That generation of Fusions, along with several other Ford models have been recalled for faulty power steering. Clearing the warning without addressing the cause could increase the risk of collision. The bolts used to secure the gear motor of Your wheel may corrode and cause the motor to detach from its housing. This results in a loss of power steering assist. Dealerships have been instructed to replace and seal the motor's bolts to correct the problem. If You receive the warning PSA warning in error, try re-setting by disconnecting the negative battery cable and then reconnecting.

I've never had any trouble with my power steering since I've had the car and I went to get my inner and outer tie rods on the car and new axle put on my car.. I pick the car up drove it home the next morning i go to drive it and power steering is out and I think it just needs reset ..i need to know how to reset the car??

I've been trying to reset my power steering fault call for the last hour I've tried disconnecting the battery cable and I've tried turning the car completely off and back on three times and it's still not working cuz someone please tell me what to do thank you

Yep, you need an advanced scan tool to clear it, ford denied this being possible and i had it done somewhere else and it worked. I searched extensively since ford changed the whole part 2 years ago, i mean, its an expensive part! Many things can cause it like old battery, or even driving on a flat for a bit, but it does work if you reset it and the part is not the issue, and to all the people getting told otherwise, keep digging. Guy at ford said he asked 3 different techs.. Lol. They are either in full denial, or have no clue.
