The 2016 Jeep Cherokee does come equipped with 8.4-inch touch-screen infotainment system that includes Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, bluetooth, a USB port, and a rearview camera. You will need a compatible iPhone to use the features of the app but it does work very well. You will also have to download the CarPlay app on Your phone as well for it to work properly. The way Apple CarPlay works is that it allows You to view some of Your iPhone applications on the infotainment screen of Your vehicle so that You can use them while in Your vehicle. All in a way that is built to help You remain focused on the road, You can get directions, make calls, send and receive texts, and listen to music.

Why are there so many different answers. Someone says yes all 2016s come equipped with it and others say no? My 2016 Jeep Cherokee Latitude does not come with it. To make matters worse the uconnect system runs on the 3G network which as of 2023 is no longer in use making the uconnect system unusable. No apple play no android auto and no way to connect even plugging in through any of the USB ports. I say this to hopefully help anyone like myself who purchased one of these vehicles used and expected the system to work properly

No it doesn’t, they didn’t add CarPlay to ANY Jeep model until 2017, Uconnect and CarPlay are NOT the same thing

Tons of false information out there on this subject. The 2016 Jeep cherokee uses 3G network which is no longer available, hence your uconnect will not work. As other have mentioned there is NO android auto or Apple carplay on this model
I have a 2016 Cherokee Limited. 8.4 Uconnect multimedia system that DOESN'T have carplay or Android Auto. Lovett know if it's possible to upgrade it to allow AA
