There was never any recall issued for the paint on the 2016 Ford Explorer. The paint bubbling up after time is a well known issue that has caused frustration for many owners of the vehicle. There was a lawsuit that was filed over this issue but the 2016 models were no included in this and the lawsuit has still not gone to court after all these years. The issue is caused my aluminum panel corrosion. This was leading to certain areas of the vehicle becoming damaged and rusting far quicker than they ever should.
The front edge of hood is notorious for flaking no recall, $40 k with a c**p paint job..I’m done with POS Fords!

There is a lawsuit for 2000-2005 ford explorers saying ford should issue a recall in order to repair bubbling of the paint, rust and corrosion of the paint on the hood due to aluminum panels being used instead of steel. There is no official recall, and it doesn't apply to the 2016 model.
