The 2012 Ford Escape has been known to suffer from issues, particularly failure, of the ignition switch. Some of the issues that have been reported include the car failing to start or the engine cranking. You also may experience an inability to turn the key in the ignition, stalling of the engine while in motion, and flickering lights on the dashboard. You may no longer be able to hear any sounds from the engine itself. If the switch is faulty, it will need to be replaced. This can cost between $43 and $81 for parts alone. If a mechanic performs the change, You can expect to pay an additional $89 to $249 for labor.

The 2012 ford escape has some ignition switch problems such as the car not starting after being turned on, sometimes it has to be turned on multiple times before it starts, the ignition switch does not allow cranking during engaging, and the switch doesn't feel right at all. Hence, several problems have been reported with the 2012 ford escape ignition switch.

Yes it does I have to jiggle keys in order to make connection between ignition cylinder & system. If not engine light stays on not allowing me to start engine!! I can tell it’s getting worse takes more key jiggling to engage.
