The 2011 Honda CR-V does have a timing chain. The coolant needs to be changed every 60,000 miles or so. Your air filter needs to be changed every 15,000 to 30,000 miles or so. The spark plugs need to be replaced every 100,000 miles unless it's a copper one. A cooper spark plug needs to be replaced every 30,000 miles. You will come into many problems with an engine. A gasket may become loose and that needs to be tightened up. A spark plug may come off, causing engine issues. You can have oil leaks and those need to be repaired quickly. A serious problem is the engine overheating. This may lead to fires and the vehicle exploding. There could be excessive oil use, requiring the oil to be changed sooner than expected.

The 2011 Honda CR-V has a timing chain instead of a timing a belt.
While there are a lot of potential issues with any car/engine, please don't fear an over heat condition leading to an engine fire. Let's be clear, your iron or aluminum block engine doesn't burn. Having said that, an overheat condition will lead to other issues such as a melted head gasket, loss of coolant/low coolant etc. Your engine won't spontaneous ignite unless you have a secondary probably such as a fuel leak around the injectors. I would highly recommend looking at your owners manual or the manufacturers website for service intervals for your model year. Take the info with a grain of salt but adhere to it as much as you can. I say take it with a grain of salt as some items have accelerated intervals that could be prolonged based on driving style, distance and frequency. Honda recommend a yearly oil change with a 10k to 15k km oil change interval. Hear me out. If you do an oil change and drive it straight home and park it for a year, honda says change the oil. Makes no sense. Sure, if parked out doors there could be a slight thermal and moisture impact but really? Makes no sense to me. Same goes for your air filter. What did it filter if not driven for year? Basically nothing. Be reasonable in your maintainance approach. Follow guidelines as best you can if you use the vehicle as a daily. Companies do oil analysis and can tell you where thinks stand if you choose but that service will cost around $30. Theoretically you could change spark plugs every year with a coolant flush. From a financial point of view, that doesn't make sense to me. Neither does an oil change every set time frame. Mileage, driving style, weather and actual oil condition could save you a fortune. It is your car, and your engine. You have decide what you are willing to spend and what really needs to be done.
