The 2006 Honda Pilot takeS4.5 quarts of synthetic 5w20 oil. Synthetic oil is by far better for performance. It protects the engine due to lower levels of friction. Switching between synthetic and conventional oils will not cause any damage to an engine. In fact, synthetic blends are a mixture of synthetic and conventional oil. Synthetic oil keeps engines cleaner. When oil travels through the engine, it picks up debris and deposits from tiny fragments of dirt and tiny slivers of metal which damage engines. Routine oil and filter changes help remove particles and sludge from the engine. If the oil isn't changed, Your vehicle's engine will start to have a lot of problems.Over time the oil will become thinner, abrasive, and will start to wear down on vital engine parts.
The 2006 Honda Pilot comes with four different versions of its 3.5L V6 engine engine code J35A9 1, J35A9 L, J35Z1 3, and J35Z1 M which all take 4.5 quarts of synthetic formulated 5W20 oil.
