What Common Problems Does the 2017 Toyota Sienna Have?
Common problems found on the 2017 Toyota Sienna include window gasket failures, frozen stereo systems, as well as excessive oil consumption. Overall, these problems are minor compared to other minivans, leading to lower repair costs as well.
Window gasket failures are the most widespread complaint from owners in the first 35,000 miles. The gasket on the driver’s side window tends to wear out quicker than in other vehicles, and has to be replaced. Changing out the gasket costs around $125, depending on local labor rates.
Frozen stereo systems have also been reported by owners in the first 10,000 miles. There are some software bugs which can cause the stereo system to freeze up while it’s being used. Most dealerships are willing to update the software for free which fixes the problem, while others may charge up to $50.
Excessive oil consumption is another problem some owners have mentioned in the first 1,000 miles. Toyota engines tend to consume more oil than other brands as a way of protecting engine components from wear and tear. Simply checking your oil regularly and topping it off as needed is the best way to solve the issue.
There are 9 recalls on the Toyota Sienna, which is worse than some other minivans from 2017. The most serious recall is for the fuel pump, which may fail. Toyota will replace the fuel pump assembly on affected models for free. Another important recall is for the rear brake hoses which are slightly too short, but it only affects 303 vans. Most of the other recalls are for labels and tire inflation issues, which are much less serious.

We have not had any and we drive a ton of miles on it so far. We keep up routine maintenance and take good care of it.
No problems. . Just the dash lighting is to dark. There is no way to get the lights brighter. Also needs tailgate forklift.

Yes. This van has a very smooth and comfortable ride. I have taken this van on multiple trips and my family loves it.
Yes it is a very good vehicle. Reliable and with lots of room to fit kids dogs and plenty of stuff.
Yea. Yes nice very nice. The only thing that is bad is the dash lights. They are to weak and can not be seen in the day time.
It was until we took it to a non-Toyota friendly automotive place and they put the wrong radiator fluid in.. This lead to cottage cheese in the radiator and needing a new radiator. It has also caused other issues. Now we also need new spark plugs.
The Sienna is a great vehicle. AWD, plenty of power, great storage space, and plenty of room for the entire family.
Yes, I believe it is a good vehicle. It drives nicely and fits my three kids comfortably. I have had no mechanical issues with it so far.
