Common problems found on the 2010 Chevrolet Tahoe include stabilitrak service lights going on and off, cracked dashboards, and random misfires. Overall, the problems are very minor and not widespread compared to other large SUVs from 2010.
Stabilitrak service lights turning on and off are the most reported issues from owners at around 55,000 miles. The main source of the problem is a damaged or loose battery cable. Tightening the battery cable fixes the problem often, but it’s about $100 to replace if it’s corroded.
Cracked dashboards are another problem reported by owners at around 75,000 miles. When the dash is in direct sunlight, it expands and contracts over time, causing it to crack and split. Some owners install a dash cover for under $100, while others change out the dash costing over $1000.
Engine misfires also show up on some Tahoe models in the first 35,000 miles. When there are misfires it’s usually a problem with the spark plugs in the engine. Replacing the spark plugs with new ones costs around $275.
There are 5 recalls, which is better than other large SUVs from 2010. The most serious recall is for the cooling fan, which increases the risk of a fire, and Chevrolet will replace it for free. The other recalls are all for airbags, which is a common recall across every make and model, and is not a big concern once they’ve been changed.

It has not had any major problems. Regular oil changes and tire rotations have kept it running great. Only needed to replace battery.
It is very reliable and I have not had any problems out of it at all and I have taken quite a few trips in it.
It has no problems and is very reliable. It is a very well built vehicle. I would recommend it to anyone. I feel very safe driving and riding in it.I feel it has no problems as long as you keep the oil changed and keep it looking nice I will continue to have it for many more years. My next vehicle will be a Tahoe also
Yes it is very reliable. I bought second hand and have had issues with tires and surrounding area but have had very little engine issues. The driver side door hinge creeks which is pricey to have fixed. It was an issue which purchased, they fixed but it started again
Yes, it is reliable. However, one of the running lights has gone out and appears to have gone out before I bought it (used). This does seem to be a common problem with a certain range of Chevrolet and GMC vehicles within a few years though.
It is reliable as long as you take care of it. I mean follow the manual. However it does have blind spots for short people.

What Colors Does the Chevrolet Tahoe Come In?
How Big Is the Chevrolet Tahoe?
The 2010 Chevrolet Tahoe is similar in size to other full size SUVs including the GMC Yukon and Nissan Armada. Passenger space is fantastic throughout the cabin, with plenty of room for adults in all three rows of seating.
Cargo space is a bit lower than some of the longer full size SUVs with enough space for 4-5 suitcases behind the third row, over 10 behind the second row, and over 20 with all the seats out and folded flat.
How Does the Chevrolet Tahoe Compare to the Competition?
The Chevrolet Tahoe is one of the best full size SUVs on the market and earns our recommendation for shoppers since it offers a powerful V8 engine, and a comfortable interior.
The Ford Expedition is a popular rival, which is about $2,000 cheaper. Cargo space is a bit better in the Ford Expedition behind the third row of seats, but the Chevrolet Tahoe has more up-to-date technology. We recommend the Chevrolet Tahoe since it lasts longer and is more affordable to own long term.
The Chevrolet Traverse is another competitor, which costs about $5,000 less. Passenger room is a bit better in the Chevrolet Traverse, but the Chevrolet Tahoe has stronger engines and can tow more weight. We recommend the Chevrolet Tahoe since it lasts longer and doesn’t have the serious engine issues found on the Chevrolet Traverse.
