Cargo space is less than rivals as well, with 17 cubic feet of space behind the seats of the 2 door increasing to 56.5 when folded flat. The 4-door is a little better with 46 cubic feet behind the seats, and 86.7 when folded flat.
How Does the Wrangler Compare to the Competition?
The Toyota FJ Cruiser is the closest competitor costing about $5,000 more. Where the FJ Cruiser stands out is with a much more reliable drivetrain, but the Wrangler Rubicon is better off-road. We recommend the FJ Cruiser since they are more affordable to own long term.
The Toyota 4Runner is another rival, costing about $2,000 less. Passenger space and comfort are much better in the 4Runner, but the Wrangler is more capable off-road. We recommend the 4Runner since it’s a longer-lasting and more practical choice.
