Love my Hyundai. Wonderful investment.
I love my car. There's no problems with my car. It drives really well and really smoothly. I have only had it for three months but already it is one of my best investments. The interior is very sleek. I love the apple CarPlay feature. The stay in lane feature is pretty cool although I do not really use it.

A reliable, spacious compact SUV.
The 2020 Tucson is a great compact SUV. You get more than double the space of a sedan without having to spend to much more on gas. It has great technology too. You get a lot of safety features even with the base model. I find the lane keep assist and lane shift assist the most helpful. You can definitely assure yourself that you'll be safe in this car!

Efficient, reliable, fun to drive and stylish.
No problems with the vehicle. It has good acceleration when needed to access highways and navigate highway driving. The SUV is fuel efficient on the highway and has very little cost at the gas pump. It has been reliable and I have not experienced any issues with the vehicle at this time. I like the emails that include the diagnostics that include vehicle health and maintenance reminders. It has been comfortable on long trips with the heated seats.

What I like and what needs to be changed.
I like the fact that the base model doesn't feel like it is base but I think it is missing certain things that should be included on the base models such as automatic lift gates for the tailgate, and automatic starter as well as auto dimming headlights.

The sunroof covers the whole top of my vehicle making it feel super open.
My vehicle is super reliable and I have never had a problem with it for the 10 months I have owned it! I have all the features in my car making it comfortable and enjoyable. I love out my car looks both outside and inside. It is silver but the whole interior is black leather! It drives smoothly and has all the safety you will ever need for a car!

Tuscan is stylish and roomy without being too big.
Rides nicely safety. Remote start that turns on heated seats. My last 2 vehicles were Hyundai they are reliable; service is exceptional. When there is a concern they act quickly to resolve and the always have great warranty to ensure your vehicle last.

Excellent car! Great choice for everyday comfort.
I haven't experienced and problems. The car runs smooth and allows for navigation to be displayed on the dashboard so you are not looking at your phone so frequently. The seats are comfortable and the back seats recline. The cargo area has plenty of space.

Perfect trio: speed, safety and performance.
I am not a big car person but I came from a Hyundai sonata sport which I loved. When upgrading I wanted a bigger car with 4wd for the snow but an engine that could still have be zipping down the highway like I did in my sonata. The Tucson sport is perfection and the sound system is incredible!

Go when give it gas- no says dual clutch
Cannot wait for lease to end for 2018 Tucson with the "new" dual clutch. This car is a death trap. It should have been recalled for known transmission problems. Don't do it - do not own a Hyundai with a dual clutch.

Warrantee & false promises
I would never recommend any Hyundai vehicle. I have a Tuson & the front brakes & rotors had to be replaced due to "something caused the inside pad to stick" but not on recall nor would the dealership cover under warrantee . Car & warrantee is junk .

To Tucson or not to Tucson.
It is extremely reliable. Smooth, quiet and very easy to drive around. I have never driven such a beautiful and sturdy car that made me feel confident that I was safe on the road. The bells and whistles in the car also are tremendous. There's lane keep assist, apple carplay, dual a/c system, etc. All of it is amazing and I highly recommend this car.

Remote Start
This vehicle is a complete disappointment solely due to a Bluelink remote start. Remote starts should be available on key fob not a phone app. I hate hate hate this feature and would not purchase this vehicle solely on that issue.

What Do Critics Say About the Hyundai Tucson?

  • Consumer Reports says the 2020 Hyundai Tucson offers a modern and comfortable interior, with average owner satisfaction scores.
  • Edmunds rates the Hyundai Tucson at 4.3/5, praising the excellent safety technology, but doesn’t like the lower fuel economy.
  • Kelley Blue Book users give the Tucson a 4.1/5, enjoying the long warranty, but owners don’t like the weak engines.

What Common Problems Does the 2020 Hyundai Tucson Have?

Common problems found on the 2020 Hyundai Tucson include the forward collision system not working, cracking noises from the sunroof, along with a rough idle from the engine. Overall, these problems are similar in severity to other small SUVs, with low repair costs due to the long 10-year/100,000-mile warranty.

The forward collision system not working is the most widespread complaint from owners on the 2020 Hyundai Tucson. Usually, the problem is caused by a software issue, which can be fixed through an update. Most dealerships will install the software update for free, while some charge around $50. There’s also a chance that there’s a front sensor issue, which can cost around $300 to replace.

Cracking noises from the sunroof are also found on some 2020 Tucson models at around 10,000 miles. The problem is most common with the panoramic sunroof, and is a sign of damaged seals. Replacing the seals costs around $350, depending on local labor rates. Although in many cases it may be covered by a warranty for free.

A rough idle from the engine is another problem mentioned by owners in the first 20,000 miles. Usually the problem is caused by a damaged oxygen sensor on the exhaust. Replacing the sensor costs around $250. There are also some reports of computer problems which most dealers will update for free.

There is only one recall on the 2020 Hyundai Tucson, which is fewer than many other small SUVs, although it’s more severe. The recall covers the ABS unit in the engine compartment which may catch fire while parked. Hyundai will replace the fuse on affected models for free to prevent a fire.

How Long Will the 2020 Hyundai Tucson Last?

A well-maintained 2020 Hyundai Tucson can last around 200,000 miles, which is around 100,000 miles less than the long-lasting Toyota RAV4. Regular annual maintenance costs are cheaper than some other SUVs according to data provided by Repair Pal at $425 per year.

As a used 2020 Hyundai Tucson reaches 100,000 miles, and depending on the vehicle history, owners should be prepared to replace the A/C condenser for $700, transmission mounts costing $450, along with the power steering control module which costs $500.

accountCircle Kristin K

Yes. I have had my car for about 3 months and as of now it is reliable. I have had 2 problems with automatic start but nothing having to do with the actual driving/performance of the car.

How Is the Technology?

Entertainment technology is great with a standard 7-inch touchscreen stereo system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone integration. There’s a larger 8-inch touchscreen offered, along with a more powerful stereo.

Safety technology is good for a compact SUV offering standard features including:

  • Driver attention monitor
  • Forward automatic emergency braking
  • Rearview camera
  • Forward collision warning
  • Lane keep assist

Optional driver assistance features include:

  • Stop-and-go adaptive cruise control
  • Pedestrian detection
  • Rear cross traffic alert
  • Rain-sensing windshield wipers
  • Automatic high-beam headlights
  • Blind spot monitoring
  • Surround-view parking camera system

Is the 2020 Hyundai Tucson a Good Value?

Yes, the 2020 Hyundai Tucson is a good value since it offers a long warranty, nice interior materials, and an affordable purchase price. How Comfortable Is the Hyundai Tucson?

The Hyundai Tucson is a popular compact SUV that offers a comfortable and spacious interior for drivers and passengers. The 2020 model features a well-designed cabin with plenty of room for passengers, as well as a range of features and amenities that contribute to a comfortable driving experience.

The seats are supportive and well-cushioned, with ample legroom and headroom in both the front and back seats. The vehicle also has a suspension system that delivers a smooth and comfortable ride, even on rougher roads.

How Much Storage Space Does the Hyundai Tucson Have?

The 2020 Tucson offers a generous amount of cargo capacity to accommodate a variety of needs. The Tucson offers 31 cubic feet of cargo space with the rear seats up, which is more than many other vehicles in its class. With the rear seats folded down, the cargo capacity increases to 61.9 cubic feet, providing ample space for larger items such as furniture or sports equipment.

What Are the Differences Between Years?

The third generation of the Hyundai Tucson was launched for the 2016 model year, and was replaced by the fourth generation in 2022.

2016: Fully redesigned for the third generation with new styling and engines.

2017: Upgraded interior materials, optional Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

2018: New engine in Sport model, SEL & SEL Plus models introduced, Eco model removed from the lineup.

2019: Small exterior styling changes, turbocharged 1.6L engine removed, lane keep assist and collision avoidance standard.

2020: The same as earlier years.

2021: No major changes.

2022: Fully redesigned for the fourth generation with new engines, styling, and technology.

How Does the Hyundai Tucson Compare to the Competition?

The 2020 Hyundai Tucson is a very nice compact SUV with a more luxurious interior than most of the competition and one of the longest warranties on the market.

The Hyundai Santa Fe is a larger SUV from Hyundai which is around $1,500 more. Passenger room is better in the Hyundai Santa Fe, while the Hyundai Tucson is easier to maneuver in large cities. We recommend the Hyundai Santa Fe since the extra space is worth the money, although both are good choices for the 2020 model year.

The Nissan Rogue is another small SUV available in the same price range. Passenger room is slightly better in the Nissan Rogue, while the Hyundai Tucson has a much nicer interior for the money. We recommend the Hyundai Tucson since it’s a more upscale choice, while being reliable as well.

My Tucson is a great car, perfect size for single mom, gas mileage is very good. Additional, I have very helpful options in my model. Car stays in lines, it is very helpful especially when is raining in the evening, it also detecting if vehicle ahead of me is slowing down, I am very happy with this vehicle.

Hyundai is a great car company.
The Tucson is comfortable, sits high enough to see over many cars. Very easy to get in and out of. The safety features are great - lane diversion detection is very helpful in avoiding accidents especially when you are trying to back out of a parking spot. I enjoy the heated seats.

Feel & handling of much more expensive vehicles.
I really enjoy the way the car handles. The lane assist takes some getting used to at first, but it really helps after that. It has a very quiet & comfortable ride. It has very responsive & quick pickup of acceleration for the size engine it has. The amount of cargo space with rear seats lowered is very adequate. The media & music electronic system is very intuitive.

I love my Tuscan! Its the perfect mom car! It is not too low to the ground for loading small children but it also is not too big like an SUV it seriously is the perfect size. I have 3 children that all fit comfortably in the back! I love my backup camera and my lane assist to keep me in the lines.

Reliable and comfortable. It is not too big and not too small.
I have kept up with the routine maintenance checks such as, oil change and tire rotation and have yet to run into any issues. I love the sunroof and cold and heat warmers on the front seats. It is extremely comfortable, great sound system. There is a button for “sport mode” that you can turn on if you need to accelerate quickly. It is very convenient to use when getting on the freeway. The backup camera is nice. However, I do not rely on it because I am not used to having one. Also, there is no beeping sound when you get close to another vehicle while backing out, just a camera to look at. Unless there’s a way to turn on the sound... I haven’t found a way. The smart features are awesome. You can turn them off and on. I use lane assistance for long drives, but usually turn of that feature when driving in the city.

Love this vehicle. I have had it for 3 months, I have not had any problems thus far. The comfort level is great and it is a smooth ride! My favorite features are the heated seats, review and blind spot sensors and the sport drive mode. Things I would change include getting leather seats rather than cloth and have electric seats rather than manual. Gets great gas mileage and extremely comfortable for long road trips. As someone who went from a 1997 to a 2020 car, the buttons on the infotainment center as well as the touchscreen option was a great comfort and didn't make me feel like I was doing a massive technology jump. I love my Hyundai Tuscan. It drives so smoothly and is very quiet. I also love the features in my car. It had lane assist and blind spot detection. I also live the backup camera it is very clear and it reps if someone drives behind me while backing up.

Best comfort, fun, and smart.
It is super comfortable and I love all the features it comes with. I discover more each day. I have never had a problem. I love the heated steering wheel and the heated and cooling seats. I love the sunroof, it brings in a lot of light. Probably the best car I have ever owned.

The car has lane assist. And a phone charging pad.
Super comfortable! Looks sleek but at a awesome price. Lots of new technology. Lots of legroom. SUV is not to big and bulky just the right size. Company is very good with working with customers. Back seat area has ac vents and the speakers are good quality.

Reliable and spacious! Tucson is a logical and economical choice.
Reliable, basic and consistent. Modern features including touch screen and backup camera. Lots of space, seats are easy to fold down and make more space in the trunk. Good gas mileage. No electric seat adjustments and no sunroof. Overall, the car delivers and has not caused any issues.

Love my Tucson, it is so spacious.
So far there are no problems. I enjoy the space and it has quick reaction. Because it is brand new it is very reliable and I am still waiting to try out the all wheel drive when it snows next. I especially like the space for my dog to ride along with me.

My new Tucson- why I love it and why I do not.
I just got a Hyundai Tucson. The color is midnight blue. I love the car because I sit higher from the ground then in the sonata. This car has a smooth ride. The steering in great. It has a rear back window wiper. The only thing I do not like is the sound from the outside. I wish I did not hear the wind so much. It could be the shape/design of the car.

2020 Hyundai Tucson sel review.
Gas mileage could be better for a smaller SUV typically get anywhere between 24-30 mpg driving mostly highway. I wish the sound system could be better as well. The sel is a great trim and the better engine does make a huge difference in the car. I would advise spending the extra 1,500 on the sport model because it gives you better sound system, fog lamps, as well as bigger tires.

Everything you could want for an affordable price.
I just bought the Hyundai Tucson sport and absolutely love it! I bought it with a winter white exterior and a grey interior. The sport gives me everything I would want including amazing speakers, a power liftgate, and led headlights. The only thing I wish it had was a sunroof. The seats are extremely comfortable and driving is fun. I just wish the acceleration was a little faster. Overall, it has everything I would want in my first car and having the phone app (bluelink) makes having this car that much greater!

New, convenient luxury style vehicle.
All the features of my new vehicle provide accessibility and comfort. O have remote start with climate control that has already come in handy during the cold mornings. Heated steering wheel and from seats. Lane drift assist, as well as blind spot detection. Bluetooth media and large display screen.
