I love my vehicle so much!
I have had my Tucson for almost a year now and I absolutely love it. It is the perfect size and very spacious inside. I love the apple carplay feature and the 7 inch touch screen console. It is great! The trunk space is huge and it is great for going to the beach! It is very spacey.

Best car ever! This car hits the mark on every feature if offers.
This car is the best. As a visually impaired driver the technology provides me with a comfort and reassurance that I can drive safely. The navigation system is the best I have ever owned. The car is also extremely comfortable. Due to being short frequently the depth of a driver's seat is too long, leading to discomfort. It is not the case in this car. The ability to move the seat so much closer and the steering wheel in and out also aids in the driving comfort. Best car ever!

My truck is fantastic. All that I need.
It is the best. Comfortable, easy to drive. A lot of space inside. So elegant. Great with phone connection and Bluetooth. Huge trunk. I feel like a queen driving my truck. Cup holders and phone charger in the back. Good screen very easy for GPS. Rear camera.

My favorite detail of this vehicle is the size! It is a perfect size SUV.
I love my car! It has lots of safety features such as lane assistance, blind spot, and more! It is such a comfortable car and a great sized SUV! It also has a nice touchscreen radio that is compatible with apple and android car play! If you like comfort, and style then I would highly recommend this vehicle!

Best car I have ever owned to date.
This Tucson has all the features I wanted. Even though I live in a snow state, I opted for front wheel drive because it has traction control and abs brakes. It has Sirius XM radio, power steering, power windows, rear camera assist, lane departure warning, collision avoidance sensors. All in all, I love this vehicle.

New Tucson and a good to ride
Very nice vehicle feels safe and rides well. All the features are top notch along with Apple play helps connecting to the texts hands free and safe. Vehicle is priced right and Hyundai offer great financing. Has great acceleration when needed and also lane control.

Sporty Tucson with nice rims
Reliable, fuel efficiency and features are top notch. 8' screen in dash that provides carplay features at ease. Apple Carplay is picky about which phone cords are plugged in is a downside to it. Bluetooth feature is an option. Heated cloth seats. Very sturdy material. Sport mode allows acceleration at ease. Sound system has great quality.

Happy to be a Tucson owner!
The Tucson does not have any blind spots. The Tucson is a very easy car to enter and exit for a woman who is wearing a dress. The features are very easy to navigate. One of the best features on the Tucson is the lights on the mirrors giving the driver indication as to whether it is safe to change lanes or pass other cars

Health issues
Overall loved the SUV up till I found the windshield washer fluid is coming in through my air vents causing me headaches and nausea. Been to dealer and the issue is not fixable . Trying to get some help with this is very stressful!! Anyone having this issue please speak up the fluid is poison and can cause serious health issues

Most uncomfortable driver's seat ever!
After noticing a "hump" of extra material in the middle of the driver's seat, the dealership said he would order me a new "seat cushion" to replace it. When the new seat was put in, I noticed the bottom section where it attaches to the back actually slants up instead of lying flat. It is extremely uncomfortable and I feel like I am "sitting on my jacket" (even though I'm not wearing one!) whenever I am in the car. I took the car back and the manager said he agreed with me--it did not look right. After the mechanics looked at it, manager came back and said they told him that is the way they are made. I have looked at numerous other 2019 Tucson seats and none of them slant upwards. I am very disappointed. 2nd issue: when using Waze, the radio comes on by itself whenever Waze gives a direction. It is driving me crazy. These two issues have totally taken the joy out of driving my new car.

Car is too small for family.
For my family of 4 this car is too small either the kids legs will be squashed or the front seats have to be moved up with your knees on the dashboard I don't care for the screen it looks like a cheap tablet my kids also complain about the room allowed for them and not being able to see out the windows.
accountCircle Marjorie H
Disappointed to say the least!
Visibility is terrible. There are several blind spots. It takes the heat 10 minutes to come on and the back up camera is awful! I had a VW Jetta with excellent cameras. If it is raining you cannot use the backup camera at all! I will not get another Hyundai.
accountCircle Jason F
Great in New England winters.
I love how well the car performs in New England winters. My major complaint is how small the entry is into the car. I am a hair under 5’9” and I feel as if I have to duck a bit to get in. Also, the trunk space is much smaller than I was hoping for, but couldn't afford to upgrade to a Santa Fe. Decent features for the price, but most important is it safe for the family even though tight.

What Do Critics Say About the Hyundai Tucson?

  • Consumer Reports says the 2019 Hyundai Tucson is a well-rounded compact SUV with average owner satisfaction scores.
  • Edmunds rates the Tucson at 4.1,5, praising the easy-to-use infotainment system, but doesn’t like the weak engines.
  • Kelley Blue Book users give the Tucson a 4.2/5, enjoying the standard safety equipment, but owners don’t like the limited cargo space.

What Common Problems Does the 2019 Hyundai Tucson Have?

Common problems found on the 2019 Hyundai Tucson include hesitation while accelerating, front collision avoidance system issues, along with rusted rear brake rotors. Overall, these problems are a bit worse than some other small SUVs, although the repair costs are cheap.

Hesitation, while accelerating, is the most common complaint from 2019 Tucson owners at around 5,500 miles. Usually the problem is caused by an issue either with the mass airflow sensor or throttle position sensor. Replacing either of these sensors costs about $150, depending on local labor rates.

Forward collision avoidance system issues have also shown up on some Hyundai Tucson models in the first 7,500 miles. The problem is usually caused by a damaged sensor in the front bumper. Replacing the sensor costs around $400 since it has a lot of advanced electronics in it.

Rusted rear brake rotors are another complaint from some 2019 Hyundai Tucson owners in the first 20,000 miles. In areas where there’s snow and salt on the roads, the rear brake rotors tend to rust easily. Some people spray the rotors with a rust inhibitor, while others clean them off. If the rust eats through the rotor, you will need to replace it, at a cost of around $400.

There is only one recall on the 2019 Hyundai Tucson, which is fewer than other SUVs, although the recall is very serious. The ABS unit in the engine can catch fire while the Hyundai Tucson is parked. Hyundai will replace the fuse for the ABS control unit on affected models for free. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration recommends parking outside until your fuse has been replaced.

How Long Will the 2019 Hyundai Tucson Last?

A well-maintained 2019 Hyundai Tucson can last around 200,000 miles, which is roughly 100,000 miles shorter than the top-rated Toyota RAV4. Regular annual maintenance costs are cheaper than other SUVs, according to data provided by Repair Pal, at $329 per year.

As a used 2019 Hyundai Tucson reaches around 100,000 miles, and depending on the vehicle history, owners should be prepared to replace the radiator fan motor for $480, vehicle speed sensor costing $280, along with the wheel hub assembly which costs $575.

accountCircle Erica M

accountCircle L D

So far none. However the range switch was replaced 2 months ago. The vehicle would not go out of park unless I restart the engine. Everything is fixed and running great.

accountCircle Taylor W

I bought the car in March of this year and have not had any issues. I even get an email once a month assesses the function of the car and the features and receive emails when service is needed.

accountCircle James L

No problems. Not yet anyways. It's reliable because it assists me in driving through lane assist, camera, and sensors that tell me if a car is on my blind spot

How Is the Technology?

Entertainment technology is great with a standard 7-inch touchscreen which features Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. There’s a larger 8-inch touchscreen available on the Ultimate model.

Standard safety technology is excellent with forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane keep assist, driver condition monitor, along with a rearview camera.

Optional advanced safety features include:

  • Adaptive cruise control
  • Blind spot monitoring
  • Automatic high-beam headlights
  • Surround-view parking camera system
  • Pedestrian detection
  • Rear cross traffic alert
  • Rain-sensing windshield wipers

Fun, sporty SUV.
Despite it being the base model, it still has nice features, including a back up camera, lane assist/departure warning, touch screen entertainment system with iPhone/Android connectivity, Google Maps, and Bluetooth, a sport mode, auto lights, and emergency breaking. The car seems very sturdy and well made, and seems very safe. It has a sleek look to it, very aerodynamic, and is roomier than it looks. Love how much stuff I can pack into it. Perfect for camping! Some cons, though there's very little as I haven't had this car for a long time, I think the engine could be a little more powerful. It's got a kick to it, even for a 4 cylinder, but you can really feel the weakness of the engine compared to some other SUVs of the same grade when you're driving up steep inclines. Makes me a little nervous to tow anything with it, as I was thinking about getting a pop-up camper and using this car to tow it. Though, I think it's more meant to be a sporty car rather than a utility vehicle, so perhaps I'm being too harsh. Another thing, I noticed paint peeling (or rusting, not really sure) on the hood. I don't know what could be causing this. I do keep the vehicle parked outdoors as I don't have a garage, so maybe it is weather related. Regardless, it's been an excellent car and is super fun to drive. I have yet to take it on a very long road trip and I'm super excited to do so.

Review of se trim level Hyundai Tucson.
My vehicle has a really comfortable ride, with lane keep assist to ensure that you do not drift out of your lane. The interior is well appointed and very comfortable, as well as being roomy for a lower trim level. Hyundai's built in roadside assistance has already been a great help when I got a flat tire. So far I really like my car. I was very interested in this vehicle due to the amount of safety features that it has such as the airbags. I also like the lane assist. I also like the blind spot sensor. I also like the auto hold that will hold my car in its place while is traffic or at a light without putting it in park or keeping my foot on the break. This was my goal car when I first started driving! I am 5'10 and love the size of this vehicle. It is easy to drive, has AWD which I love using in adverse weather. Hyundai also has great safety. It has auto headlights, rear backup camera, and beeps when a collision is possible. It is not the fastest at accelerating but gets the job done and once you are moving you move! Love this car and will have it for a long time.

No problems. I enjoy the sun- roof. All the specs. The sensors on the vehicle indicating oncoming traffic on both sides of rear- view mirrors, especially with the vehicle paired with my iPhone. I like the seats and its size. The ceiling is also a moderate height. The technology is also easy to catch onto. I am a new driver, and I enjoyed using the technology accompanied with the vehicle. The engine, however, is not its most notable feature. Although it is not a bad engine at all, it seems to be slightly underpowered in comparison to other models from the year 2019.

Car speeds very slowly, has sensor when you draft of the lanes. Has a panel where you can project your maps. The space in the back is big enough. The hood is big enough to fit a lot if you go on a trip. You can also drop the seats to make more space to put more objects.

Lane assist is great when driving long distance.
Love the heated seats, driver assist and great gas mileage. The backup camera is always great and I love the “sport” feature. The trunk is very spacious and perfect for our family of three when traveling. Bluetooth is great for hands free phone talking and siri is a huge help!

Perfect size, very attractive!
I love the size of this SUV. The interior is attractive and the exterior is sleek. I love the console, it is easy to use and looks expensive. It is the perfect size for me, and I can easily travel with my dog in tow. There are great features included in this car and I would recommend it to a friend.

The night edition Tucson has a lot of fantastic upgrades rims, sunroof.
I have owned three Hyundai vehicles previously, and I am extremely happy with the Tucson, great gas mileage, extremely comfortable I do a lot of traveling, it has ample amount of space for groceries, golf clubs, trips to the hardware store, etc. It fits five people comfortably, when it is time to trade my current Tucson in I will most likely be looking at the palisade or the newest Tucson.

Hyundai tucson is a great family car.
It is a great vehicle. Big enough to hold your family and all their things. It is fully loaded. The heated seats are the best features. If you live in the city or wait in traffic frequently the auto hold button is fantastic. It is an overall great vehicle.

The Tucson is a great small family SUV!
I have had it for a little over a year now and love it! It's great on gas, roomy, and perfect for our small family. The trunk space is great and I like that you can fold down part of the back seat for additional space while still having a seat available.

Economic and up for anything!
A smooth, safe, economic vehicle. It makes getting from point a to point b and enjoyable journey. It is very reliable and maintenance is inexpensive. It is very comfortable and roomie in all the right spaces. The trunk space is probably my favorite, as the back seats fold out giving you more than enough room for stowing larger items. The technology in the Tucson makes it worth it. The apple CarPlay makes the entire vehicle come together to provide a well rounded experience.

It overall is a great car besides not enough room in the back.
I wish there was more room in the back would be my only thing. I think the air in the back that comes out the vents is not very strong. I like how smooth the car rides and how it has sports mode which the car picks up speed quickly. You can hook up your phone to the car and it shows all your contacts.

Radio is a no go. No Iphone, no features.
I like my Hyundai Tucson. It is a very dependable car but I feel like it's a little cramped for my lifestyle. Also I do not like that the radio really only suits Iphones. I would prefer to have a car that connects to all types of phones. It has left me feeling like I cannot use it to its fullest potential unless I buy an iPhone and this is very inconvenient for someone like myself who can barely get around without a GPS because I have to hold my phone to know where I am going because it will not show it on the car radio screen simply because it is not an iPhone.

A perfect, smaller and compatible SUV.
The gas mileage on my car fits my needs perfectly. I also enjoy having a large trunk to store what I need as opposed to a smaller vehicle. Other cars I have owned in the past do not compare to the comfort of this car as well. The features that it offers are also basic and just what I need. It is spacious and perfect for my lifestyle.

Good on gas and drives smooth.
It is a good vehicle. Have never had any issues with it. It is the very base model so it still uses a key to start instead of a push to start button, no heated seats, etc... Gas mileage seems to be pretty good. Nothing I can really complain about. Coming from a Hyundai Elantra for the last 9 years I enjoy the Tucson equally.

Overall a great car, but has one minor issue.
I love the car, but the push button start is sometimes a bit sticky. You have to push down on the brake to use a push start, but sometimes my brake barely pushes down which causes a more labored start. The positives are the keyless entry, remote start, built in navigation, and the heated seats.

Smart and sporty SUV with panoramic sunroof and smart play!
This has been an excellent vehicle with many helpful features. I love the lane assist and the smart cruise control. The car’s trim package makes it look very sporty! One feature that I love is smart play that connects to my iPhone. This allows total hands free from the phone while driving and I appreciate this safety feature!

My 2019 Hyundai Tucson sport.
I have only owned my car for a few months, but so far so good. It has been very reliable, no problems or complaints. It has good pick up and go considering it is a 4 cylinder. It does have a sport mode if you want a little more oomph. I have the automatic lift gate which is super convenient for grocery pick up.

Great in the winter, but it is an AWD.
There have been no issues thus far. It handles better in winter than any other car I have had. The gas mileage is great, and I enjoy the digital screen for miles left, as well as speed, and the ability to switch between typical, sport, or shiftronic mode.

The car is good but needs some improvements.
It really is a nice smooth riding car. Wish the passenger seat could be adjustable as I feel like I am sitting on the floor. The doors are a little heavy to swing open. The car is very spacious on the inside. I wish I was told the phone charger pad works with newer iPhones than what I had and I would not have gotten all excited about using it.

My home on wheels: Hyundai Tucson.
The car runs very smoothly and has the great apple play. It is very helpful when answering calls and for navigation. The car is super comfortable and really great for long drives! The air conditioning system works perfectly and I always feel right at home in the car.

Best car ever-you should buy this car.
It really goes when I step on the gas. I can depend on this car. Best overall. Never have any trouble with this car. I always buy a Hyundai, very good warranties. The service in very minimal I always tell people that I know about this car and great it is.

I love my Hyundai Tucson!
I love my car, it is very comfortable. I love how the front seat can be adjusted with the button. The back seats also can be adjusted but you have to do that manually. I haven't had any issues that made me regret getting my car. She performances beautifully and is very reliable. You can go a few weeks without having to fill up the tank.

I love my vehicle, especially the backup features and aerial view.
Car is a great size and drives beautifully. Very comfortable and easy to get to know. I have personally had no issues with my vehicle and have only taken it in for oil change/ maintenance when it was scheduled to be taken in. Car play and other radio features work great. Backup camera with aerial view is probably my favorite feature and extremely useful for tight spots or teaching someone how to drive / park.

The vehicle is comfortable and good to drive.
The vehicle is comfortable, ergonomic and very good to drive. Besides having a good space in the trunk. The benches are very soft and have the possibility to carry the whole family on it. Great for driving on the road and taking trips with the family. The design is beautiful.

Great car for first time SUV owners!
This car is great! I was looking for a great starter SUV and this one really exceeded my expectations. I have the basic model, which still comes with a lot of amenities. For example, apple CarPlay, reverse camera, blind spot mirror, sport mode and many more.
