Is the 2003 Dodge Ram a Good Used Truck?
- Overall Rating 4/10 – Of the three leading full-size trucks, the 2003 Dodge Ram has aged worse than the Silverado or the F-Series, with rust and chipping plastic taking a toll on the vehicle’s structure.

- Safety 7/10 – You won’t feel unsafe in a 2003 Dodge Ram, and the truck scored well in IIHS crash tests. But don’t expect modern safety tech like lane keep assist and rearview cameras.
- Gas Mileage 3/10 – The lightest model gets about 16/21 miles to the gallon, city highway, while the Laramie gets a scant 14/19, which is pretty bad even for a 2003 full-size.
- Value 4/10 – If you must buy a twenty year old full-size truck, the F-150 has higher towing capacity and can be found at a lower price.

The 2003 Dodge Ram-1500 is reliable. Considering this vehicle is 16 years old now, it has impressed us with its durability and longevity. I feel safe, secure, and steady when it is driving on the road next to other vehicles, and also when it's carrying its passengers of all ages and various equipment.
It has been very reliable, other than needing the crankshaft positioning sensor replaced twice in a year and a half. When this sensor was going bad it would cause the vehicles engine to stall out even at 60 mph going down the highway
I does have a few problems I plan to address in the near future but like I said I appreciate having a running vehicle
Yes it reliable and don't have problems with it with it drive every well also I would not be Scared to take a long road trip or drive it crossroads
The air has went out. The belts get changed often. Oil for it is expensive. Gas mileage is crazy, cost a bit to get a full tank.
