The auto stop system on the Honda Click is controlled by wires, if those wires are bad then it will not function correctly, likewise if the battery is low then it will not activate. But what exactly is auto stop and why is it used in newer model cars. Well Auto Start/Stop Technology automatically shuts off the engine when the vehicle comes to a full stop and idles for more than a few seconds. Once the driver puts pressure on the accelerator, then the engine turns back on. It's simple, and some say it can save between 3-5% of gas in stop-and-go traffic. So the next time You see a car shut off at a light now You know why.

The system turns off the internal combustion engine when the vehicle stops at a stop light or during stop and go traffic where the vehicle would normally idle for a minimum of three to five seconds. The engine is then automatically restarted when the driver is ready to proceed.
