The 2012 Ford Fusion has a coolant temperature sensor that can be found by accessing the bottom of Your vehicle, or through the hood. First, go to the front of the engine, and open the hood, using the prop arm on the passenger side of the engine bay to secure it in an open position. Take a look into the engine bay, toward the center of the cylinder head. The coolant temperature sensor is found between the ignition coils. If the sensor is faulty, it will need to be replaced. This will cost You between $25 and $50 for parts alone.
