If You're getting fault code P1101 on Your Buick Encore, know that it's not the end of the world -- but it's something that You should get checked out sooner than later. In essence, what it means is that the powertrain control module (PCM) has detected a discrepancy with the MAF sensor voltage. The Encore will run a Key On Engine Running (KOER) test, and if the MAF sensor voltage is out of manufacturer specified operating range, it'll store P1101. Your biggest cause here is a faulty MAF sensor. You may also have a clogged air filter, poor MAF sensor wiring, or just a d***y sensor. The first thing You should do is clean it, and see if that happens to clear the code. It'll save You a lot of work for a simple solution, if so.

The Buick Encore Code P1101 error occurs when the PCM (powertrain control module, also known as the ECM or engine control module in another vehicle) detects a fault or discrepancy within the MAF (Mass Air Flow) sensor system as the PCM conducts a self-diagnosis called KOER or Key On Engine Running.
