The Honda Civic P0113 error code is thrown mainly when the Intake Air Temperature sensor is faulty. The IAT is part of the MAF sensor and monitors the temperature of the intake air before sending this data to the ECM. The "check engine" light will illuminate if the P0113 code is thrown. Other possible causes of the error include a d***y or clogged air filter; a shorted or open IAT electrical harness or poor connections within the sensor's circuitry. The P0113 code is specifically related, however, to voltage. It's scanned when the Honda's computer records A4.91 volt reading from the IAT for more than haLFA second. The reading is considered to be excessive voltage. Cost to replace the sensor averages $100 in parts and labor.

Code p0113 for honda civic sets when the voltage signal to the pcm from the intake air temperature sensor circuit stays above 4.5 Volts while the coolant temperature voltage readings rise and fall within the appropriate range.
