The Jeep Renegade's fuel filter has been installed in the fuel tank and is considered a non-serviceable part. The filter is designed to last the lifetime of the vehicle. However, due to lack of care or exposure to debris, fuel permanent filters can become clogged, faulty and impair driving. The repair is costly because the entire gas tank must be removed to replace the filter. To keep the Renegade healthy, change synthetic oil at recommended intervals, every 7,500-10,000 miles or 12 months. Use the correct octane in the gas tank (regular, unleaded 87 octane) and schedule routine checkups that include emissions inspections. Regular maintenance will help preserve the Renegade's long-term reliability. The average cost for an oil change is $140-$160 in materials and labor.

On the Jeep Renegade the fuel filter is located inside of the gas tank, on the back left of the vehicle.
