The recommended power steering fluid for the 2008 Mazda3 is a type M-IIiAutomatic transmission fluid or an equivalent like Dexron IiATF. You should inspect the fluid level every few months and top it off if necessary. The power steering fluid reservoir is located on the passenger side of the engine compartment just to the right of the windshield washer fluid reservoir, it is the one with the black cap. As long as Your fluid level is in between the MIN and MAX marks You're good to go. If the fluid level is below the MIN mark, unscrew the cap and add enough transmission fluid to bring it two within range, but don't go over.
