The 2008 Lexus ES350 uses Dexron II/IIiATF fluid in the power steering system. This is mainly known as transmission fluid but it is also very commonly used in the PS systems. There is a bit of disagreement on when or if the power steering fluid should be changed with about half the comments saying it doesnt need it with the others claiming it should be done every few years or 30,000 miles. Some of the symptoms of a problem with Your PS are a loud whining anytime You turn the wheel, a much stiffer than normal steering wheel or lack of control. You do need to keep the reservoir full so checking it every time You check the oil is a good practice.
