From time to time, You'll need to gain access to Your vehicle's electrical system control module, whether for upgrades, repairs, or replacement. In the case of the 2006 Volkswagen Jetta, You'll need to do a bit of digging to find it, but it doesn't take too much elbow grease to gain full access. You'll first need to look to the left of the clutch pedal pivot. There, You'll find the interior fuse box, which You should be quite familiar with. If You feel just behind this fuse panel, You'll discover the electrical system control module. It's integrated as part of the body control module, so while You won't be able to see it, You should be able to access it.

The ecu for the 2006 vw jetta is in two places. The main one is behind the passenger side dashboard, beneath the air bags. The body ecu is located under the air bag of the driver side, along with the fuse box.
