The key fob for the 2005 Honda Pilot takes a 3V CR1616 coin cell battery. You will know that the battery is dead in the key fob when You press any of the buttons and the LED does not illuminate. To replace the battery You will need a micro screwdriver fitted with a #0 Phillips head bit. There is only one screw on the back of the key fob that needs to be removed. If this is the first time replacing the battery there may be some loctite on the screw and may require a little extra force to remove it. There is a small rectangular indent on the side of the fob, You should be able to place Your fingernail in it and private two halves of the fob apart.
