There are many reasons that could cause the check engine light to come on in the 2017 Ford Edge. The Edge has various sensors located throughout the vehicle that monitors almost every aspect from the fuel delivery system, the charging system, the ignition system and also the suspension. There are sensors in the gas tank, sensors in the wheels there's even sensors that detect when Youre driving up hills. An issue with any one of those will cause the check engine light to come on. To be able to accurately determine the exact cause of the right a diagnostic scan would need to be done with a scan tool plugged into the OBD-II port below the steering wheel.
