The optimal brake fluid to use in the 2006 Ford Escape is Motorcraft High Performance DOT 3 brake fluid. The brake fluid reservoir is located on the firewall on the driver side of the engine compartment. When inspecting the brake fluid level make sure that it is filled to the fill line on the side of the reservoir. Some common symptoms of being too low on brake fluid a soft brake pedal. When You depress the pedal, it will feel soft and will travel more than normal. The vehicle can take longer to slow down and stop. The brakes are noisy while in use, and my drag when releasing the pedal. Low fluid can also affect the ABS system and cause vibrations while braking.
