For the 2006 Ford Taurus You're going to want to use 4.5 quarts of a full synthetic SAE 5W-20 engine oil. 5W-30 is also an acceptable option if that's what You have available to You. You may just notice a slight increase in fuel efficiency with the 5W-20. No matter which one You choose You can find 5 quart containers at most auto retailers for about $20 or somewhere in that range. Grabbing a compatible oil filter to go along with that will only add about $9 to Your total. Changing the oil in this Taurus every 6,000 miles or so is ideal for keeping Your engine running at its best. -
