The kind of gas the 2017 Chevy Malibu takes is regular gasoline. Having the fuel burn efficiently is the key to maximizing Your miles per gallon. Your gas tank needs to be in the beSTShape. You will come into problems at some point. The gas tank might become loose. A bad control valve may arise. The gas cap can become stuck and will be quite a hassle to deal with. There could be gas leaks, which need to be looked into pronto. Car parts will eventually become ineffective. The fuel filter needs to be replaced every 30,000 miles or so. If it doesn't get changed, You will come across issues with the performance.

The manufacturer recommends regular gas for each Malibu except the Premier trim with the Turbo. If that is what you have, the manufacturer recommends using premium to achieve peak performance. Regular gas will work on all gasoline powered engines. The Turbo also has a bigger fuel tank, 15.8 versus 13 gallons for the non turbo. Of course, if you have the hybrid you will require a charging station periodically as well
