The 2014 Ford Edge limited towing capacity is specified by the manufacturer at 2000 lbs. You can increase this up to 3500 with the added on towing package if purchased from the dealership. If You are towing a trailer weighing over 1500Lbs You will need a brake controller installed. The recommended brake controller popular by consumers is the Curt Echo wireless which will allow You to use it with Your smartphone. When towing a trailer or other heavy load just keep in mind that braking distance is significantly hindered so You will have to drive slower and stay further away from cars to avoid a wreck.

Depending on the engine and tow package, the 2014 ford edge is capable of towing 2,000 to 3,500 pounds. Get the maximum towing capacity with a 2014 ford edge equipped with a 3.5-Liter v-6 engine.

Not true. Our 2014 Edge SE 2.0L is only rated for 1500lbs for some reason. Plenty of torque, the frame and brakes are the same - either marketing or something to do with the transmission.
