The wrench light on a 2008 Ford Explorer is the malfunction indicator light. When this light turns on it means that Your vehicle has detected a malfunction and has saved the code to Your ECU. When You have this light turn on You should get off the road as soon as possible to make sure that You do not damage Your powertrain. After that You should use an OBD II scan tool to read the ECU for codes. Most codes can be fixed fairly easily, but there may be a serious problem that You will need to take it to a mechanic to handle so always make sure to leave the code in the ECU so they can inspect it as well.

The 2008 Ford Explorer wrench is powertrain malfunction indicator. The light illuminates when a powertrain, a 4x4 or a AWD fault has been detected. Contact your authorized dealer as soon as possible.
