The ECO setting in the Jeep Grand Cherokee is a mode that allows for a better fuel economy by making adjustments to the performance of the transmission. Upshifts happen sooner while downshifts happen later. When the mode is activated, the air suspension system is turned on the car is lowered to what's called "Aero Ride Height". In V-8 models, Fuel Saver Technology can deactivate cylinders and has throttle sensitivity. Fuel delivery is also cut down when coasting and idle speed of the engine is also lower. Eco mode is generally turned on as soon as You start the vehicle and can be turned off as desired. The button is located in the center of the instrument panel just below the fan controls.
