The P0234Code on the 2013 Ford Escape means Engine Overboost Condition. This event gets triggered if Your onboard computer detects that the pressure in Your intake manifold is above the maximum value Ford has progRammed by more than 4 psi in a timespan of 5 seconds, as detected by the intake boost pressure sensor. Reasons You may encounter this is because the wastegate on the turbocharge is damaged or sticking, or the wastegate control valve solenoid is. Additionally, it could be a wastegate control hose that's blocked ... Or, more rarely, that the sensor itself is failing. If You actually do have more boost pressure in Your engine, You might find that it's more powerful... Until the head gaskets blow, because Your engine isn't designed to handle that much all the time. So, You know, actually address this. If You like to live dangerously, though, You can clear the code, either with a scantool or the old trusty battery disconnect method and then see if it returns on Your next trip or if it was a false alarm.

The obd-ii p0234 error code is defined as engine overboost condition and is associated with an intake pressure issue in the vehicle.
