To replace the battery in the key fob for a 2017 Chevy Malibu the first thing You need to do is hit the button on the bottom by the key chain that will release the mechanical key from the fob. Then take the key or a screwdriver and place it into one of the holes of the key fob where the key was stored. All You need to do is apply some pressure and pry the two halves of the fob apart. There may be a layer of rubber to remove as well but underneath that You should find the battery. Simply slide one out and put in the new one and then reassemble all the parts. -

To change the key fob battery on the 2017 Chevy Malibu you will need to open the back cover. This can be done by sliding it off, though some will require it to be unscrewed. Once open you can then remove the battery and put a new one in. Then close it back up and you will be finished. A key fob will need a cr2025 battery, which will cost about 5 to 6 dollars on average.
