The newest generation of Jeep Cherokee vehicles will have a payload capacity of 1250 to 1790 pounds. This is impressive given the size of the vehicle. It is smaller than the Grand Cherokee models but still has the same payload capacity on nearly every trim level as it's larger namesake. If You are going to tow something behind Your vehicle You'll need to factor in the payload if You are also carrying items inside the vehicle itself. This means that the 3500 to 7200 pounds towing capacity and the payload capacity will need to split if You are going to haul both inside and outside the vehicle.
