There are numerous different ways to reset the check engine light on the Jeep Renegade. Some require doing nothing, some require doing something simple and some are more complicated. The first thing You can do is just hope that it goes away by itseLFAfter driving for a while. If that didn't work You can try to disconnect the battery and wait for around 20 minutes and then reconnect it. If those didn't work You might need to fix something in the vehicle for it to go away. One of the most common things for it to go on is because of a loose or missing gas cap. If that is not the reason You will have to plug in a scanner and find the code that is causing the problem, it can be anything from a bad oxygen sensor, bad spark plugs or even something wrong with the catalytic converter.
