To reset the 2015 Ford Focus' service light, close all the doors and turn the key to the "off" position. Press and hold the brake and accelerator pedals down together. Turn the key to the "on" position without starting the car. Keep the key on for at least 30 seconds and the instrument panel should read, "Oil reset in Progress" and then "Oil Reset Complete." Now release the brake and turn off the car. Fire the engine and the system should be successfully re-calibrated. Remember to schedule regular oil and filter changes for the Focus every 7,500-10,000 miles or 12 months when using synthetic products and every 3,000-5,000 miles when using conventional products. Cost for a lube and filter change averages between $110-$122 in materials and labor.

First, turn the ignition to the on position but do not start the engine. If your vehicle has push button start, press and hold the start button for two seconds, but do not press the brake pedal. Once the car is in the on position, hold down both brake and accelerator pedals as far as they can go until the display indicates that the service reset is complete.

Using the reset button, navigate in the menu to the oil life reset option, and hold down the button to execute the reset.
