Resetting the tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) in a 2017 Acura MDX can usually be done without a scan tool. However, if this doesn't work, a properly formatted TPMS scan tool will be needed. To begin, park the vehicle and adjust the tire pressure, as needed. A cold pressure rating should be the goal, so allow the vehicle to sit a bit before doing this. You can find the recommended pressure on the tire placard in the door frame. When You're done, drive the vehicle at speeds above 30 miles per hour for at least 15 minutes. This gives the system time to receiving a new rating from all four sensors. If You need to use a TPMS too. You'll need to retrieve the rating from each sensor individually, starting with the left front tire and moving clockwise around the vehicle.
