You try to start Your 2016 Ford Escape, when You realize the battery in Your key fob has died. You will need to purchase a new 3 volt battery to go inside, but thankfully, You can easily do this Yourself. First, take the actual ignition key out of the bottom of the fob. Next, using a small screwdriver, remove the back cover. Gently pull out the dead battery, open Your new one, and insert it in its place. Now, replace the cover, and re-insert the key into the space at the base. Finally, trying using the buttons to lock/unlock Your doors, or to start Your engine.

To change the battery in the key fob for the 2016 ford escape, you need to use the metal key to open the casing. Pry the battery out with the key and replace it with a new battery.
