The recommended oil for the 2014 Honda Pilot is 0W-20 Synthetic in all temperatures. The capacity for the vehicle iS4.5 quarts with a filter or 4.2 quarts without. The torque for the drain plug is 29 ft/lbs. The difference between synthetic and conventional is that synthetic is man made so it is more advanced and needs to be changed less often. The oil and the filter for the Pilot should be changed every 5,000 miles because it doesn't last forever. You can do an oil change in only about 5 to 15 minutes give or take depending on Your experience. Some of the tools needed to change it are a drain pan, gloves, eye protection, ratchet, socket and socket extensions
