Gold 2020 BMW X6 In Motion

They don’t call the BMW X6 an SUV, they call it a Sports Activity Coupe, or SAC. The idea is to combine the high ground clearance and AWD of an SUV with the feel of a coupe, making the X6 one of the most unique vehicles in its class.

What is the price of a 2020 BMW X6?

The 2020 BMW X6 MSRP ranges between $68,493 for a base sDrive 40i to $85,185 for an M50i.

  • Expert reviews: 4.0 stars

The question, as always, is not what it costs, but if it’s worth the money. We’ll give you all the information that you need to make that call. Keep reading and find out if the BMW X6 is right for you.

BMW X6 Trim Levels, Packages and Options

sDrive 40i

Starting at $68,493, the base sDrive 40i comes with a 3.0L DOHC 24 valve inline-6 turbocharged engine. That’ll get you 335 horsepower and 330 ft. lbs. of torque. 8-speed automatic transmission, 21/26 mpg city/highway, and seating for five.

This is the base model, but it’s far from basic. Standard features include power-heated side mirrors, heated sport seats up front, BMW TeleServices and ConnectedDrive, Live Cockpit Pro, and lane departure warning, to name a few.

The X6 is a full luxury car experience even if you’re spending as little money as possible. Some packages and options to consider include:

  • Driving assistance professional package with active lane keeping assist and automatic lane change ($1,700)
  • Luxury seating package with massage seats up front ($1,600)
  • M Sport package with adaptive M suspension and sport exhaust ($4,500)

There is an xDrive 40i trim starting at $73,466, but it’s not exactly a whole new trim, it’s just the sDrive 40i with all-wheel drive. Other than that, you get the same features and the same packages and options between both 40i models.

M50i

Starting at $79,582, the M50i could be called the top-tier trim, but the big difference is in the engine, a 4.4L 32 valve V8 with a whopping 523 horsepower and 553 ft. lbs. of torque. This is an SUV that drives like an AWD muscle car.

Other than that, the M50i features a black grille and a Harman Kardon surround sound system, but otherwise, the extra horsepower is the only major difference.

For the most part, you get the same packages and options on both the 40i and 50i models. The Executive package is worth mentioning, though. For $4,550 you get remote engine start, back-up assistant, panoramic sky lounge LED roof, and even heated and cooled cup holders.

Worth Every Penny?

The luxury SUV market is getting a bit crowded lately. The X6 is worth the money, but then, so is the Escalade. So, you’ll want to read the Vehicle History, compare models, and decide which one is actually worth your hard-earned dollars.
