Blue Ford GT From Front-Driver Side

Ever wondered what it would be like to take to the streets in a true race car? Well, the 2020 Ford GT is about as close as you’ll get to being able to legally drive a race car through your city streets.

What is the price of a 2020 Ford GT?

The 2020 Ford GT’s MSRP starts at $500,000, though available package add-ons (like the Liquid Carbon package) can increase the price on this supercar to $750,000 or more.

A true showcase of Ford’s engineering and innovations, the 2020 Ford GT undoubtedly comes with a high asking price — but with so much to offer, the automaker is not having a hard time selling these.

The GT’s Standalone Trim

The 2020 Ford GT is offered in just one trim configuration with a starting MSRP of $500,000. As you’d probably expect at this price point, the GT is well appointed inside and out. Honestly, there’s not much you’d want or need to add.

The GT’s impressive equipment begins with Ford’s 3.5L twin-turbocharged V6 EcoBoost engine at a whopping 660 horsepower. This engine is paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and rear-wheel drive.

That breathtaking engine is capable of reaching top speeds in excess of 200 miles per hour, which is in line with what you’d expect from an actual race car on the track. Meanwhile, every 2020 Ford GT also boasts:

  • A  hydraulic speed-deployable spoiler
  • A carbon-fiber body
  • An Akrapovic titanium exhaust system

As you might expect, the GT is only designed to accommodate two passengers. Still, the interior is decently spacious for a sports coupe — and is outfitted with standard equipment like a 6.5-inch touchscreen interface with voice-activated navigation.

Continuing on the tech front, every 2020 GT also comes with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone integration to help you stay connected while you’re on the go.

Where the GT really shines, though, is in its performance. Its powerful engine allows this car to reach 60 mph from a dead stop in just three seconds. Meanwhile, an adaptive suspension allows for nimble handling, even around tight corners.

Just in case that’s not enough for you, the 2020 GT is offered with some package options and standalone add-ons, though Ford’s website is vague on the pricing for many of these.

We do know that an available Liquid Carbon package tacks on $250,000 to the GT’s MSRP and adds such features as carbon-fiber wheels, titanium lug nuts, six-point racing harness anchors, and the buyer’s choice of five interior colors and five caliper colors.

What’s Changed in the 2020 Ford GT?

Compared to the previous generation of Ford GT, which ceased production after the 2006 model year, the most recent generation has come quite a long way.

Perhaps most notably, new GT models have ditched the existing supercharged V8 for a more efficient and powerful EcoBoost V6. Meanwhile, the new GT also sees a number of new features that include:

  • Stability control
  • Adjustable drive modes
  • Touchscreen display
  • Ford Sync 3 capability

Check the Vehicle History Before You Buy!

If a 2020 Ford GT is within your reach, make sure to do your research before you build and buy. You can find out everything you need to know about nearly any car at Vehicle History, so this is a great starting point.
